Graduated from the Master of Technology and Communication with the research called “The influence of visual appearance and conversational style of text-based chatbots on UX and future interaction intention” (Graded with 8).

Research Process:

  • created a scenario called “broken phone” where users had to search for solutions in order to repair their mobile phone by making use of the services of a text-based chatbot.
  • created 4 chatbot conditions which are manipulated in terms of visual appearance and conversational style based on literature findings and theoretical background on Snatchbot.me platform. 
  • connected the chatbots to Facebook Messenger where 400 participants did interact with them.
  • The UX was measured by using both qualitative and quantitative methods as follows:
  • collected the 400 survey results filled in by the participants. The AttrakDiff scale for measuring UX was used together with other two popular scales which measured the social presence and the future interaction intention.
  • colected semi-structured interviews from the participants for more insights.
  • analysed the quantitative data in the SPSS software.
  • made use of the qualitative requirements for analysing the semi-structured interviews (e.g. inter rater reliability, Cohen`s Kappa).
  • presented the results and he conclusion including the theoretical and practical implications of the research
  • conducted a Q&A sessions where the teachers and the other participants received answers to their questions
