Whether you are looking for a smaller or larger home, with a specific schedule or just room to sit out on the lawn, it is often hard to find what you need. To help with the sheer volume of resumes being sent out from babysitters and nannies across North America every day, we’ve put together this guide for how to write your resume that will be perfect for your particular needs.
Child Care Resume Writing Guide:
- Start with your child’s age. If you are sending out a resume for a five-year-old, be sure to include their age. If you are writing for a nine-year-old, be sure to mention the ages of the children in your situation.
- Add that special experience! Include any recent volunteer work, athletics, or other activities that show experience and skills that go beyond what an average student would have encountered in school.
- Include a photo! Many families look to the photos on the resume for guidance when they are preparing to interview a potential child care provider. Be sure your picture is attractive, professional, and depicts your sense of humor. One parent interviewed remarked that they chose a babysitter who was “funny!”
- Use an easy-to-read font! Smartphone text reading is usually very challenging; use a strong font size and bold colors to make it easy for the reader to read.
